What HopDrop Is
HopDrop is a peer-to-peer platform that connects people who need to send items between cities ("Senders") with people who are already traveling to that destination ("Travelers"). We facilitate the connection and payment — we do not operate as a courier or logistics company.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use HopDrop. By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is accurate.
User Responsibilities
As a Sender:
- You are responsible for accurately describing your item
- You must not send prohibited items (explosives, illegal substances, hazardous materials, weapons, or any items prohibited by Indian law)
- You must declare the correct value of your item
- You must record a packing video when required
- You must pay the agreed amount for delivery
As a Traveler:
- You are responsible for safely carrying the package
- You must verify the packing video before accepting pickup
- You must deliver the package to the agreed drop-off point
- You must not open, tamper with, or damage the package
- You must update delivery status honestly in the app
Prohibited Items — Zero Tolerance
The following items are strictly forbidden on HopDrop. Listing, carrying, or attempting to ship any prohibited item will result in immediate account suspension and may be reported to law enforcement.

Any living creature — birds, reptiles, insects

Items exceeding platform limits
Weight >20 kg or value >₹50,000

Items prohibited by Indian law
Postal or aviation regulations violations
Payments & Escrow
- Senders pay the offered amount when a match is confirmed
- Payment is held in escrow by our payment partner (Razorpay)
- Payment is released to the traveler only after the sender confirms delivery
- HopDrop charges a platform fee (deducted from the payment)
- If delivery is not completed, the sender receives a full refund
Disputes
- If a package is lost, damaged, or not delivered, the sender can raise a dispute
- Disputes are reviewed based on packing video evidence, delivery status updates, and communication records
- Refunds for valid disputes are processed from the escrowed amount
- HopDrop's dispute resolution decision is final
Verification
- Users may verify their identity via LinkedIn OAuth or Aadhaar
- Verification is optional but recommended for building trust
- Verified status does not guarantee the behavior of any user
Liability
HopDrop is a platform connecting senders and travelers. We are not responsible for:
- Loss or damage to items during transit
- Actions or behavior of other users
- Delays caused by travel disruptions
- Items that are prohibited but were not declared
Our total liability is limited to the declared value of the item or the payment amount, whichever is lower.
Account Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that:
- Violate these terms
- Engage in fraudulent activity
- Send prohibited items
- Receive repeated negative reviews
- Misuse the platform
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms. Continued use of HopDrop after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Bangalore, Karnataka.
